Kenny has over 30 years experience teaching! He is also an accomplished musician who has been involved in various music groups including playing the part of Ringo Starr in the Original Cast of Beatlemania during 1989-94 and traveling throughout the world.
Kenny plays and teaches drums, guitar, bass, and harmonica, using unique approaches to learning. He believes "each student must be met at their individual level to make it a fun and enjoyable learning process." Kenny teaches with a combination of "by ear" and written material to help students understand the basic structure of the music as well as the role of their instrument in the lesson.
Kenny teaches various drumming styles including pop, country, classic rock, and more! Some of the drum styles he teaches include: Ringo Starr, John Bonham, Rick Allen, Neil Peart, to name a few...all from beginner to advanced.
He plays and also teaches guitar and harmonica. Some of the guitar styles he teaches include: Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and Jimi Hendrix...also from beginner to advanced. Some styles/techniques: 'odd tuning' Eb,
D, Db, string bending and vibrato, solos that are in the blues "feel", use of the capo,
"hammering" and
"pull-offs". He is currently the drummer in the group "Monogroove" that can be found at www.monogroove.com or on myspace under the same title.
