Hello and welcome to my web site. My name is Mike Kinney. I have been playing guitar for 30 years. I am a family man with 3 kids-2 boys ages 9 and 13, and a 4 year old girl. I am a very patient person! I will help you or your children learn what it takes to play the guitar or bass.
What do you want to learn?
Over the years I have helped others reach their goals in music. I really enjoy helping someone discover what can be accomplished on the guitar if they just put some time into practicing! In my lessons, students are learning everything from reading music, to learning jazz progressions and playing classical pieces. I will teach you what YOU want to learn. Blues to Metal...Eric Clapton to Metallica...I teach students their favorite songs no matter the style.

My 9 year old has taken lessons from Mike for three months. Unfortunately we had to move so that is the reason we are no longer with him. In those three months my daughter learned more than she had with any other teacher. I liked the fact that he was a parent himself and knew how to work and have patience for kids. He is very good at finding out what the kids like and keeping them focused. Aspen looked forward to lessons and enjoyed practicing. We have been looking for a new teacher here and it is very hard to find someone to fill Mike's shoes.

Mike's Background:
I have been playing in bands since I was 12 years old and have performed a variety of music ranging from acoustic to heavy metal in the late 80's early 90's. I currently play classic rock and blues. Personally I enjoy all styles of music and am constantly learning more about all areas of music; Jazz, Classical, Rock, Blues, Folk, and Heavy Metal.
