Based out of Los Angeles, CA. KONOGORRE pronounced (ko-no-go-rey) was formed in April of 1997 by its two founding members: Vocalist, Danielle Gorre Kent and husband, guitarist / drummer Mike Kent, whose credits include; Civil Defiance, Red Eye Blues, Weirdhead, and Twist Of Fate. His diverse drumming background from playing heavy thrash to jazz to swampy roadhouse blues fit like a glove with the powerful and soulful vocals of KONOGORRE's lead singer and lyricist, Danielle Gorre Kent. As soon as they began to collaborate in April of 1997 on Mike's guitar ideas and song demos, the instant chemistry and obvious spiritual connection became quite apparent, as songs like "No Turning Back," "Water From The Well," and " Mother Earth" came about only to plant the seed for a continued collection and collaboration of songs. In February through early March 2000, Mike and Danielle went into flavor32 studios in Los Angeles, with Danielle on vocals and piano and Mike on drums, bass, and guitar, where they recorded seven songs for their debut CD (Between the Lines) with producer / musician, Mckay Garner. The CD contains elements of Funk, Rock, Jazz, R&B and Middle Eastern music, with vocal performances ranging from powerful, gritty, and in your face, to beautiful passionate melodies. In late April 2000, Mike reconnected with Bassist, Shane Harry, a rehearsal studio neighbor from the Twist of Fate days, and is now the ultimate bassist for KONOGORRE. Mike Kinney played with Konogorre in 2001 reuniting with Mike after playing together in Civil Defiance, Weird Head and Twist of Fate.
